vegetarian side dishes
- cranberry sauce
a side dish from chris rapier's famous thankgiving feasts. so good
i like to eat them year-round.
- sweet sweet potatoes
the moosewood lowfat cookbook says: "remember those candied sweet
potatoes and sweet potatoes with marshmallows? if you have fond
memories of those dishes from thanksgiving or christmases gone by, but
find that they just don't taste as good to you anymore, try this
recipe."
- Carolina Kale
Adapted from the Moosewood Lo-Fat Cookbook, a great bean and veggie dish that
can be served as a stew with cornbread, or over rice for a twist on
the classic beans and rice.
- Broiled Tomatoes
Broiled cherry or grape tomatoes, an incredibly rich topping for
pasta, quiches, served with baguettes. I often make it just to have
around, and surprise myself with a new use for it every time.
